AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL
341 AM CDT WED MAY 6 2015

.DISCUSSION...

PERSISTENT MAY BE THE BEST WORD TO DESCRIBE THE WEATHER PATTERN
THROUGH SUNDAY AS THE FORECAST AREA REMAINS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF
UPPER-LEVEL ANTICYCLONIC FLOW. THE ONLY SENSIBLE DIFFERENCE IN
CONDITIONS SHOULD BE AN INCREASE IN TEMPERATURES AND EVENTUALLY
HUMIDITY. WITH MODELS TRENDING TOWARD A STRONGER 500MB RIDGE...
CONFIDENCE IS HIGHER THAT SEVERAL LOCATIONS WILL REACH 90 DEGREES
ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ACROSS OUR SOUTHERN HALF. LOW-LEVEL FLOW
WILL BEGIN TO TURN MORE SOUTHERLY BY SUNDAY AS A PLAINS TROUGH AND
SOUTHEAST RIDGE BOTH SHIFT EASTWARD. THIS WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASE
IN MOISTURE AND RAIN CHANCES MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO TUESDAY AS
HEIGHT FALLS OVERSPREAD THE REGION.
