FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
502 AM MDT WED MAY 06 2015

.DISCUSSION...TODAY AND TONIGHT...A RATHER MOIST AND UNSTABLE
AIRMASS REMAINS IN PLACE BEHIND THE PASSAGE OF YESTERDAYS STORM
SYSTEM. SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING...WITH A
FEW AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS ANTICIPATED WITH DAYTIME HEATING.
TEMPERATURES WILL BE SOMEWHAT WARMER BUT HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL REMAIN
HIGH. SURFACE WINDS WILL TREND NORTHERLY ON THE PLAINS THIS
AFTERNOON BEHIND THE PUSH OF A WEAK BOUNDARY.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...A WEAK BUT VERY
MOIST SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY. DAYTIME
HEATING WILL DE-STABILIZE THE AIRMASS EACH DAY WITH SHOWERS
DEVELOPING ALONG WITH A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. AN UPPER LEVEL LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE OVER COLORADO SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...
INCREASING THE PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE REGION. COOL TEMPERATURES
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WILL BECOME EVEN COOLER OVER THE WEEKEND WITH
SNOW LEVELS DROPPING TO THE LOWER FOOTHILLS. ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL
IS EXPECTED OVER THE WEEKEND IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS...
...ALL SURFACE WINDS ARE 20-FOOT...10-MINUTE AVERAGED WINDS...
...CWR IS CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN - 0.10 INCH OR MORE LIQUID...
...24 HR TRENDS ARE BASED ON AVERAGES OVER THE RESPECTIVE ZONE
GROUPS AND MAY NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL FORECAST VALUES
                     SHOWN IN THOSE GROUPS...
