THIS MORNING STARTED OFF WITH SEASONABLY CHILLY TEMPERATURES
ACROSS THE REGION. RECORD LOW TEMPERATURES FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR
GENERALLY RUN IN THE LOW TO MID 20S. THIS MORNING...DES MOINES
HAD A LOW OF 33...WATERLOO HAD A LOW OF 31...AND THE TEMPERATURE
MADE IT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 26 DEGREES IN SIOUX FALLS...SOUTH
DAKOTA. NORMAL LOW TEMPERATURES FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR ARE IN THE
UPPER 30S TO LOW 40S...SO THIS MORNING/S TEMPERATURES WERE A
SOLID 15 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. WINDS THIS MORNING HAVE BEEN
ON THE INCREASE...BLOWING FROM THE NORTHWEST AT AROUND 15 TO 25
MPH.

WINDS WILL REMAIN STRONG THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTHEASTERN IOWA
INTO SOUTHERN MINNESOTA...BLOWING FROM THE 20 TO 30 MPH RANGE
WITH GUSTS APPROACHING 40 MPH. FROM SOUTHWESTERN IOWA INTO
NEBRASKA...WINDS WILL BE LIGHTER...BLOWING IN THE 10 TO 20 MPH
RANGE. MOSTLY SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE
REGION THIS AFTERNOON AND TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE IN THE MID 40S TO
MID 50S...WITH THE COOLEST TEMPERATURES EXPECTED IN NORTHEASTERN
IOWA AND WISCONSIN.

FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK...EXPECT COOL AIR TO REMAIN IN PLACE
ACROSS THE REGION. NORMAL HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR
ARE IN THE LOW TO MID 60S...AND WE SHOULD BE ABOUT 5 TO 10 DEGREES
BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS WEEK. AS OF NOW...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
STORMS APPEAR POSSIBLE ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION FRIDAY INTO THIS
WEEKEND AND THE START OF NEXT WEEK. SATURDAY MAY BE THE WETTEST OF
THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. IN ALL...A QUARTER TO HALF AN INCH MAY FALL
THROUGH THIS WEEKEND.
