SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE PRESENT ACROSS IOWA MUCH
OF TUESDAY AFTERNOON AS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY WAS PUSHING NORTHWARD
THROUGH THE STATE. THERE WERE SCATTERED CLOUDS AROUND THE
REGION...ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND NORTHERN
IOWA...WHICH HELPED KEEP TEMPERATURES BELOW NORMAL IN THE CLOUDY
LOCATIONS. TEMPERATURES IN THESE LOCATIONS WERE IN THE 50S. WHERE
THERE WAS MORE SUNSHINE...TUESDAY AFTERNOON/S TEMPERATURES WERE IN
THE LOW TO MID 70S. DES MOINES BRIEFLY REACHED 79 DEGREES TUESDAY.
BUT WATERLOO...WHERE IT WAS MORE CLOUDY...ONLY REACHED 59 DEGREES.
WINDS SOUTH OF THE BOUNDARY WERE FROM THE SOUTH AT 5 TO 10 MPH.
WINDS NORTH OF THE BOUNDARY WERE FROM THE EAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

FOR WEDNESDAY MORNING... SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
LIKELY ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN IOWA INTO EASTERN NEBRASKA AND THE
DAKOTAS. TEMPERATURES FOR WEDNESDAY MORNING WILL LIKELY BOTTOM
OUT IN THE MID 50S TO LOW 60S AND WINDS WILL BE FROM THE SOUTHEAST
AT AROUND 7 TO 13 MPH. THE AFOREMENTIONED SHOWERS AND STORM WILL
SPREAD EASTWARD WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. HIGH
TEMPERATURES FOR WEDNESDAY WILL BE IN THE LOW TO MID 70S...WITH
THE COOLEST TEMPERATURES TO THE WEST...WHERE THE CLOUDS ARE. WINDS
WILL BE ON THE STRONGER SIDE WEDNESDAY...BLOWING FROM THE SOUTH AT
AROUND 15 TO 25 MPH.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORM CHANCES REMAIN IN THE FORECAST EVERY DAY OF
THE UPCOMING WORK-WEEK. THURSDAY AND SUNDAY EVENINGS BRING THE
BEST CHANCE FOR STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS. HIGH TEMPERATURES SHOULD
BE IN THE 70S WITH LOWS IN THE 50S AND 60S FOR THIS UPCOMING WEEK.
