WEATHER SUMMARY FOR IOWA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DES MOINES IA
525 PM CDT SAT APR 11 2015

THE AFTERNOON SHAPED UP TO BE A BEAUTIFUL ONE FOR MUCH OF THE
STATE. HIGHS REACHED AT LEAST THE MID 60S ACROSS THE STATE WITH
MANY LOCATIONS IN THE WESTERN HALF OF THE STATE REACHING THE LOW
TO MID 70S. THE ONLY COMPLAINT ON THE AFTERNOON WOULD BE SOME
BREEZY WINDS THAT HAD GUSTS AROUND 30MPH IN THE WEST. AS OF EARLY
THIS EVENING...TEMPERATURES REMAINED IN THE 60S AND LOW 70S...WITH
WINDS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE SOUTH AROUND 15 TO 20MPH.

THIS EVENING DISTURBANCE WILL WORK ITS WAY INTO THE STATE FROM THE
SOUTH AND BRING WITH IT SOME RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS. THIS EVENING
AND OVERNIGHT IT WILL PRIMARILY BE RELEGATED TO SOUTHERN IOWA
BEFORE WORKING ITS WAY NORTH DURING THE DAY SUNDAY. SOME HAIL AND
HIGH WINDS ARE NOT OUT OF THE QUESTION WITH A FEW OF THE STORMS
THAT MAY DEVELOP. LATE SUNDAY AND OVERNIGHT INTO MONDAY A WEAK
FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH...BRINGING WITH IT MORE RAIN AND CHANCES
FOR STORMS.

INTO THE WORK WEEK...PRECIPITATION SHOULD BE OUT OF THE STATE FOR
THE MORNING RUSH MONDAY AND REMAIN DRY UNTIL WEDNESDAY EVENING.
CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION AND STORMS RETURN WEDNESDAY NIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY BEFORE DRYING OUT AHEAD OF AND THROUGH THE
WEEKEND FOR MUCH OF THE STATE. TEMPERATURES FOR THE WEEK WILL
GENERALLY SIT IN THE 60S AND LOW 70S.
