FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
426 AM CDT TUE APR 28 2015

.DISCUSSION...
AN UPPER-LEVEL STORM SYSTEM OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS IS EXPECTED
TO TRACK EAST-NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS NORTHERN ALABAMA TONIGHT AND
INTO THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION WEDNESDAY. THIS WILL OCCUR AS AN
AREA OF SURFACE LOW PRESSURE LIFTS NORTHEASTWARD FROM THE CENTRAL
GULF INTO THE GA/SC COASTAL WATERS. LIGHT RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH
THESE SYSTEMS WILL BEGIN TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION FROM THE
SOUTHWEST LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT...
BEFORE ENDING FROM WEST-TO-EAST ON WEDNESDAY. MOST LOCATIONS WILL
RECEIVE BETWEEN 0.25-0.75 INCHES OF RAINFALL...WITH HIGHEST TOTALS
EXPECTED SOUTH OF THE TENNESSEE RIVER. SMOKE DISPERSION WILL BE
IN THE GENERALLY GOOD CATEGORY TODAY...BUT WILL FALL INTO THE
FAIR CATEGORY TOMORROW AS TRANSPORT WINDS DIMINISH TO 5-10 MPH.
PATCHY FOG WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE IN THE WAKE OF THE RAINFALL
ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING.

A COOLER WEATHER PATTERN WILL PREVAIL THROUGH THE END OF THE
WEEK AND FIRST HALF OF THE WEEKEND...WITH A REINFORCING COLD
FRONT PERHAPS BRINGING A FEW ADDITIONAL SHOWERS ON THURSDAY.
WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL RETURN FROM SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY AS
A SOUTHERLY WIND FLOW DEVELOPS ACROSS THE REGION.
