...CHANGE IN MARINE WARNINGS FOR TROPICAL CYCLONES...

BEGINNING ON MONDAY JUNE 1ST 2015, THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
WEATHER FORECAST OFFICE IN SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA WILL USE THE MARINE
WEATHER MESSAGE (LAXMWWSGX) IN THE RARE CIRCUMSTANCE OF A
TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCH AND/OR WARNING BEING ISSUED FOR THE SAN DIEGO
COUNTY COASTAL WATERS.

IN ADDITION TO THE CURRENT MARINE VALID TIME EVENT CODE (VTEC) CODES,
THE MARINE WEATHER MESSAGE WILL ALSO CARRY THE TROPICAL VTEC CODES:

TR.A - TROPICAL STORM WATCH

TR.W - TROPICAL STORM WARNING

HU.A - HURRICANE WATCH

HU.W - HURRICANE WARNING

THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE TO WMO HEADERS OR AWIPS IDS FOR THE MARINE
WEATHER MESSAGE.
