OVERNIGHT...MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WITH EMBEDDED
THUNDERSTORMS ONCE AGAIN MOVED NORTH OUT OF SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA
DURING THE EVENING HOURS. THIS BAND OF RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS EVENTUALLY
STALLED OVER PORTIONS OF THE SANDHILLS...EASTERN PANHANDLE...AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA FOR SOME SIX HOURS...BEFORE SLOWLY MOVING
SOUTH TOWARDS THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. THIS PRECIPITATION...WAS IN
RESPONSE TO A VERY STRONG UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM THAT WAS WORKING ITS
WAY SLOWLY ACROSS WESTERN KANSAS. RAINFALL TOTALS IN EXCESS OF ONE
AND A HALF INCHES WERE COMMON ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE
SANDHILLS...WITH AMOUNTS OF A QUARTER OF AN INCH TO ONE INCH OVER
SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA.

TODAY...A STRONG COLD FRONT WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS...WILL DROP
THROUGH WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA THROUGH THE MORNING
HOURS TODAY. THE PASSAGE OF THIS COLD FRONT WILL SET THE STAGE FOR
A COOL AND WINDY DAY ACROSS THE REGION. NORTHWEST WINDS OF 20 TO
30 MILES PER HOUR AND GUSTS TO 45 MILES PER HOUR WILL BE COMMON
FOLLOWING THE COLD FRONT. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RISE INTO THE 50S
BY THE LATE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS...BEFORE FALLING
THROUGHOUT THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY.
