AN UPPER LEVEL LOW SPINNING OVER SOUTHWEST NEW MEXICO DELIVERED
A PLETHORA OF WEATHER ACTIVITY ACROSS THE LAND OF ENCHANTMENT.
EASTERN LINCOLN AND CHAVES COUNTIES SAW SOUTHWEST WIND GUSTS UP TO
55 MPH. BERNARDO...TAOS...AND SOUTHERN UNION COUNTY EXPERIENCED
BRIEF PERIODS OF SMALL HAIL. MUCH OF THE HIGHER TERRAIN SAW
SNOWFALL INCLUDING NEARLY AN INCH IN CHAMA. OF COURSE...MUCH OF TODAYS
ACTIVITY CAME IN THE FORM OF RAIN SHOWERS ACROSS THE WESTERN TWO
THIRDS OF THE STATE. BETWEEN A QUARTER OF AN INCH TO THREE
QUARTERS OF AN INCH OF RAIN ACROSS THE GREATER ALBUQUERQUE METRO
AREA...WHILE ACCUMULATIONS BETWEEN A TENTH OF AN INCH AND A
QUARTER OF AN INCH WERE COMMON FOR THE REST OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL
NEW MEXICO. THE PASSING OF A PACIFIC COLD FRONT USHERED IN MUCH
COOLER TEMPERATURES...RESULTING IN HIGHS BELOW TO WELL BELOW
NORMAL. SOME NOTABLE DAYTIME HIGHS INCLUDE 47 DEGREES IN
GALLUP...49 DEGREES IN CLINES CORNERS...AND 73 DEGREES IN ROSWELL.

MUCH OF THE SAME IS ON TAP FOR TONIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP
THROUGH THE NIGHT AND RESULT IN MORE SNOW FOR THE HIGHER TERRAIN.
THE EASTERN PLAINS WILL JOIN IN ON THE RAIN AND SNOW ACTION AS A
BACKDOOR COLD FRONT PUSHES SOUTH. SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE EAST SLOPES OF THE SANGRE
DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...AND HEAVY RAIN FALLS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE
NORTHEAST PLAINS. OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE
UPPER 20S AND 30S ACROSS THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS TO THE LOWER AND
MID 40S ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST PLAINS.
