...WINDY AND DRY CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER
THIS AFTERNOON...

WEST WINDS GUSTING TO 30 TO 35 MPH WILL BRING A MUCH DRIER AIR MASS
INTO CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST WISCONSIN THIS AFTERNOON. THE DRY AND WINDY
CONDITIONS WILL CAUSE GRASSES AND OTHER FINE FUELS TO CURE...RESULTING
IN ELEVATED FIRE DANGER. ANY FIRES THAT IGNITE WILL SPREAD QUICKLY
DUE TO THE STRONG WINDS.

RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION WITH EQUIPMENT OR ALL-TERRAIN
VEHICLES THAT COULD THROW A SPARK AND IGNITE A FIRE. CARE SHOULD
ALSO BE TAKE WITH SMOKING MATERIALS AND CAMPFIRES. BE SURE TO
CHECK WITH THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES TO SEE IF
BURNING RESTRICTIONS ARE IN EFFECT.

VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR INCREASED WILDFIRE
ACTIVITY...ESPECIALLY IN GRASSLANDS.
