FLOOD STATEMENT...CORRECTED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
105 AM EDT TUE APR 14 2015

...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MARQUETTE HAS ISSUED A FLOOD
ADVISORY FOR THE STURGEON RIVER...

STURGEON RIVER NEAR NAHMA JUNCTION AFFECTING DELTA COUNTY

.WARMER TEMPERATURES HAVE ALLOWED THE REMAINING SNOWPACK IN THE
STURGEON RIVER DRAINAGE BASIN OVER ALGER AND DELTA COUNTIES TO
CONTINUE MELTING. THE RUNOFF HAS ALLOWED THE STURGEON RIVER NEAR
NAHMA JUNCTION TO REACH BANKFULL. SINCE THERE REMAINS SOME
ADDITIONAL SNOW LEFT TO MELT IN THE WOODS OF NORTHERN DELTA COUNTY,
THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN AT OR ABOVE BANKFULL THROUGH MUCH OF
THIS WEEK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...RESIDENTS ALONG THESE RIVERS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT AND
EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN WALKING NEAR RIVERBANKS.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE AND RIVERS ARE
FORECAST TO EXCEED BANKFULL. IF YOU ARE IN THE ADVISORY AREA REMAIN
ALERT TO POSSIBLE FLOODING...OR THE POSSIBILITY OF THE ADVISORY BEING
UPGRADED TO A WARNING. REPORT OBSERVED FLOODING TO LOCAL EMERGENCY
SERVICES OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND REQUEST THEY PASS THIS INFORMATION ON
TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR FAVORITE MEDIA OUTLET FOR
FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS AND INFORMATION FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE.
