BETWEEN 35 AND 45 MPH WERE COMMON ACROSS THE AREA WEDNESDAY...AS HIGH
PRESSURE BUILT INTO THE MISSOURI RIVER VALLEY. MEANWHILE...A STRONG
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CONTINUED TO SPIN OVER ONTARIO AND QUEBEC WITH
CLOUD COVER FROM THAT SYSTEM REACHING AS FAR AS NORTHEAST IOWA AND
NORTHWEST ILLINOIS. ELSEWHERE...SKIES WERE SUNNY. TEMPERATURES WERE
ABOUT 10 TO 12 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL...WITH HIGHS IN THE UPPER 40S TO
MID 50S.

SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION TONIGHT...AS
HIGH PRESSURE SLIDES EASTWARD OVER THE AREA. WITH CLEAR SKIES AND
LIGHT WINDS...TEMPERATURES WILL PLUMMET INTO THE 20S AND LOWER 30S
BY THE MORNING COMMUTE. A FEW LOCATIONS NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30 MAY SEE
TEMPERATURES SLIP INTO THE LOWER 20S...WHILE PARTS OF SOUTHEAST IOWA...
NORTHEAST MISSOURI...AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS SETTLE INTO THE LOW 30S.

SUNNY SKIES AND NORTHWEST WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH WILL PREVAIL THURSDAY...
WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S AND LOW 60S.
