...The National Weather Service in Taunton, MA has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Connecticut...

  Connecticut River At Middle Haddam affecting Middlesex County

The rainfall from today combined with minor tidal fluctuations will result in
minor flooding very early this evening and then a second time very
early Tuesday morning.


Safety Message...A Flood Statement providing the latest information
in this flood event will be issued within the next 8 hours, or
earlier if needed.

Safety Message...Do not allow children to play near swollen rivers,
streams or culverts. Swiftly moving water can pose an imminent threat
to life.

The National Weather Service in Taunton, MA has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  The Connecticut River At Middle Haddam.
* until Tuesday morning...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  4:55 PM Monday the stage was 7.03 feet.
* Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
* Very Minor flooding is occurring and very Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will briefly fall below flood stage early this evening
  but then rise again to near 7.1 feet by early Tuesday morning. The river
  will fall below flood stage by late Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 7.0 feet...Flooding is likely in the vicinity of Meadow
  Road, Route 17A, in the Gildersleeve section of Portland. A portion
  of this roadway will likely be closed. This includes the Exchange
  Club of Portland Fairgrounds. Boating interests should prepare for
  a period of swift river flows during this period.
