SPOT FORECAST FOR BAKER FACE RX
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
716 AM MDT WED APR 1 2015

.DISCUSSION...A COLD FRONT IS MOVING THROUGH SOUTHWEST UTAH EARLY
THIS MORNING...AND WILL LIKELY PROVIDE WEST-NORTHWEST WINDS AT
THE FIRE THROUGH THE DAY. HIGH CLOUDS SHOULD INCREASE THROUGH THE
DAY...AND COULD BE SIMILAR TO YESTERDAY...WITH MOSTLY CLOUDY OR
EVEN OVERCAST HIGH CLOUDS POSSIBLE BY THE END OF THE DAY...BUT
PERHAPS NOT AS THICK AS YESTERDAY.

WINDS SHOULD DECREASE OVERNIGHT...BECOMING LIGHT AND VARIABLE OR
LIGHT DOWNSLOPE THROUGH MUCH OF THE NIGHT...BUT PERIODS OF 5-10
MPH OUT OF THE WEST OR EVEN SOUTHWEST MAY STILL OCCUR AT TIMES. A
SECOND STRONGER COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THURSDAY
MORNING...BRINGING THE RETURN OF GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS. THERE IS
ALSO A 30 PERCENT CHANCE OF MEASURABLE SNOWFALL THROUGH THE DAY
THURSDAY...BUT THE MORE LIKELY SCENARIO IS THAT ANY ACCUMULATING
SNOW WILL REMAIN NORTH OF THE FIRE. THESE SNOW SHOWERS THURSDAY
REPRESENT THE ONLY CHANCE OF MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION IN THE
FORECAST THROUGH SUNDAY.

WINDS WILL BE MUCH LIGHTER ON FRIDAY...AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS
OVER THE STATE. SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL LIKELY RETURN ON
SATURDAY...AND THEN BECOME SIGNIFICANTLY STRONGER ON SUNDAY AHEAD
OF THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM. SUNDAY WILL ALSO BRING MUCH WARMER
TEMPERATURES COMPARED TO THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
