WATER VAPOR IMAGERY SHOWS AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WITH AN AXIS FROM
30N144W TO 22N154W. AN ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT IS LOCATED ALONG A LINE
FROM 30N142W TO 16N170W. A 150 MILE WIDE BAND OF OVERCAST CUMULUS
CLOUDS RUNS ALONG THE FRONT AND IMPACTING MUCH OF MAUI COUNTY THIS
AFTERNOON. NORTH OF 27N...THE FRONTAL CLOUD BAND CONSIST OF LAYERED
CLOUDS WITH TOPS UP TO 30 KFT IN HEIGHT. THE FRONT IS MOVING EAST AT
15 MPH AT IT/S NORTHERN POINT...TO NEARLY STATIONARY SOUTH OF 24N.

BEHIND THE FRONT TO THE NORTH AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 30N148W TO
26N180W...BROKEN TO OVERCAST STRATOCUMULUS CLOUDS ARE MOVING EAST
NORTHEAST TO WEST SOUTHWEST AT 20 TO 30 MPH.

TO THE EAST OF THE FRONT...SCATTERED CUMULUS CLOUDS COVER AN AREA
EAST OF A LINE FROM 25N140W TO 10N160W. AREAS OF CIRRUS CLOUDS ARE
PUSHING NORTHEAST FROM THE ITCZ LOCATED SOUTH OF 10N. THESE CLOUDS
EXTEND AS FAR NORTH AS 17N.

ACROSS THE MAIN HAWAIIAN ISLANDS...BROKEN CUMULUS CLOUDS COVER THE
WINDWARD SIDE OF KAUAI...WITH MOSTLY SUNNY CONDITIONS LEEWARD. ON
OAHU...BROKEN CUMULUS CLOUDS COVER THE WINDWARD SLOPES OF BOTH THE
KOOLAU AND WAIANAE MOUNTAINS. THE REST OF OAHU IS MOSTLY SUNNY THIS
AFTERNOON. THE ISLANDS OF MAUI COUNTY ARE MOSTLY CLOUDY
THROUGHOUT...WITH SMALL BREAKS ACROSS THE SOUTHERN COASTS OF MOLOKAI
AND LANAI...AND OVER THE WESTERN SLOPES OF HALEAKALA. THE BIG ISLAND
IS CLOUDY EXCEPT FOR BREAKS ALONG THE PUNA AND SOUTH HILO COASTS.
THE SUMMITS OF MAUNA KEA AND MAUNA LOA HAVE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES.
