FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR E ND...NW AND WC MN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND FORKS ND
322 PM CDT TUE MAY 5 2015

.DISCUSSION...
RED FLAG WARNINGS FOR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL
CONTINUE UNTIL 7 PM. IT WAS RECENTLY EXPANDED A BIT SOUTHWEST
TOWARD BISMARCK AND DID INCLUDE SARGENT AND RANSOM COUNTIES IN
SOUTHEASTERN NORTH DAKOTA. OTHERWISE NO CHANGES WERE DONE TO THE
UPDATE ISSUED LATE THIS MORNING.

DEW POINTS ARE STARTING TO RAPIDLY RISE IN PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL
MINNESOTA AND EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA AS MOISTURE RETURNS NORTHWARD.
AS IT DOES AND WINDS DIMINISH A TAD THIS EVENING EXPECT TO SEE A
FAIRLY RAPID INCREASE IN RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES EARLY THIS
EVENING. SHOWERS WILL SPREAD NORTHWARD OVERNIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY
MORNING. EXPECT SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY AREA-WIDE. HOW MUCH RAINFALL IS STILL
QUESTIONABLE. BUT IT APPEARS A WIDESPREAD ONE HALF INCH IS VERY
LIKELY....MAYBE SOME AROUND 1 INCH OR EVEN MORE IF ANY STORMS FORM.

DRY WEATHER RETURNS FRIDAY AS WINDS TURN WEST AND A BIT COOLER AIR
MOVES IN. COOLER AIR FOR SATURDAY INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. A STORM
SYSTEM OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL MOVE NORTHEAST AND MAY BRING
SOME ADDITIONAL RAINFALL LATER SUNDAY INTO MONDAY FOR ESPECIALLY
SOUTHEASTERN NORTH DAKOTA INTO NORTHERN MINNESOTA. BUT IT DOES
APPEAR THE BULK OF THE RAIN WILL BE JUST SOUTH OF US WITH THIS
SYSTEM EARLY NEXT WEEK.
