...VERY GUSTY WINDS EXPECTED TODAY IN NORTHEAST CALIFORNIA AND
EAST OF THE CASCADES...

NORTHEAST SURFACE WINDS WILL ALIGN WITH WINDS ALOFT...AIDED BY
INSTABILITY...TO CREATE GUSTY CONDITIONS FROM EASTERN SISKIYOU...
MODOC...KLAMATH...AND LAKE COUNTIES. MODELS SUGGEST WINDS COULD
BECOME GUSTY MUCH EARLIER THAN NORMAL...BY 10AM OR SO...AND WILL
PEAK IN THE LATE MORNING OR EARLY AFTERNOON WITH WIND SPEEDS UP TO
45 MPH.

THOSE PLANNING TO DO ANY KIND OF BURNING OPERATIONS SHOULD TAKE
NOTE OF THESE EXPECTED GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS...WHICH COULD CAUSE
RAPID FIRE GROWTH UNDER THE RIGHT CONDITIONS. ADDITIONALLY...ANY
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES WILL BE IMPACTED BY WINDY CONDITIONS TOMORROW.
WINDS WILL DIMINISH SOME IN THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
