.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

...ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE OVER PORTIONS OF
NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...
FREQUENT LIGHTNING...GUSTY WINDS AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN ARE
POSSIBLE WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM. SEVERE STORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED.

DISCUSSION...
A SERIES OF UPPER DISTURBANCES WILL SPREAD SHOWERS WITH A FEW
EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA TODAY... WITH MAINLY
SHOWERS EXPECTED OVERNIGHT. RAINFALL AMOUNTS FROM 1/4 TO 1
INCH... WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS... CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH
TONIGHT. ANY TRAINING OF SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE SAME

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND
EVENING... THEN A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY AND MONDAY. AT

PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM EARLY
SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. ALTHOUGH WIDESPREAD FLOODING
IS NOT EXPECTED... RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED
CLOSELY AS MOIST SOIL CONDITIONS WILL ALLOW RAINFALL TO QUICKLY
RUN OFF INTO ALREADY SWOLLEN STREAMS AND RIVERS.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NEEDED THROUGH TONIGHT... BUT
SPOTTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT REPORTS OF STORMS AND HEAVY
RAIN THROUGH THE WEB BY GOING TO WEATHER.GOV/ATLANTA.
