FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
210 PM CDT WED APR 1 2015

.DISCUSSION...

A WEAK SURFACE BOUNDARY CURRENTLY SITS JUST ALONG THE TN
RIVER...WITH LOCATIONS NORTH OF THE BOUNDARY OBSERVING RH VALUES
IN THE UPPER 20 PERCENT RANGE...WHILE LOCATIONS SOUTH OF THE
BOUNDARY ARE OBSERVING RH VALUES IN THE UPPER 40 TO 50 PERCENT
RANGE. FOR THE REMAINDER OF TODAY AND TONIGHT...THE BOUNDARY
WILL LIFT NORTHWARD...WITH SOUTHERLY FLOW RETURNING TO ALL OF THE
FORECAST AREA. THIS WILL INCREASE MOISTURE ACROSS THE TN VALLEY
WITH SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE ON THURSDAY. AS THE MOISTURE
INCREASES...AND UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND ASSOCIATED STRONG COLD
FRONT WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA BY FRIDAY...WITH THE CHANCE FOR
WIDESPREAD WETTING RAINS SPREADING FROM WEST TO EAST DURING THE
DAY. THE FRONT IS EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH DURING THE LATE EVENING
HOURS ON FRIDAY...WITH DRY AIR FILTERING INTO THE REGION BEHIND.
ALTHOUGH DRY AIR WILL FILTER IN...RH VALUES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN
ABOVE CRITICAL LEVELS THROUGH THE PERIOD.
