WEATHER SUMMARY FOR PUERTO RICO

SKIES BECAME MOSTLY SUNNY TO PARTLY CLOUDY ACROSS THE REGION
DURING THE DAY. A FEW CLOUDS FORMED ALONG THE SOUTHERN SLOPES OF
PUERTO RICO AND OVER PARTS OF THE INTERIOR BUT NO PRECIPITATION
WAS OBSERVED OR DETECTED BY THE DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR. HIGH
TEMPERATURE REACHED THE 90S ONCE AGAIN ALONG PORTIONS OF THE
NORTHERN HALF OF PUERTO RICO WITH A NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE
OF 94 DEGREES BEING ESTABLISHED AT THE SAN JUAN INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT. A WARM AND DRY SOUTHERLY FLOW DOMINATED THE REGION WITH
WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH WITH OCCASIONALLY HIGHER GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH
OR SO ALONG THE COASTAL AREAS.

THE PERSISTENT LOW LEVEL SOUTHERLY FLOW IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
THROUGH MOST OF THE WORK WEEK RESULTING IN ABNORMALLY HOT AND OVERALL
DRY CONDITIONS. SHOWER ACTIVITY OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS WILL BE VERY
LIMITED IF ANY AT ALL. ONLY A SLIGHT CHANCE OF BRIEF LIGHT SHOWERS
ARE FORECAST MAINLY ACROSS PARTS OF THE SOUTH AND EAST COASTAL SECTIONS
OF THE ISLANDS DURING THE EARLY MORNING...AND IN ISOLATED SPOTS ALONG
THE NORTHERN SLOPES DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS. UNDER THE PRESENT AND
EXPECTED WIND FLOW...DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES MAY CONTINUE TO REACH
THE LOW TO MID 90S PARTICULARLY IN THE LOWER ELEVATIONS IN AND AROUND
THE SAN JUAN METRO AREA.

ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS...GENTLE TO MODERATE SOUTH WINDS UP TO
15 KNOTS AND FAIRLY TRANQUIL SEAS OF 4 FEET OR LESS WILL PERSIST
FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
