.DISCUSSION...
THE LAST OF THE VERY WINDY DAYS IS AHEAD TODAY AND WITH SOME
FAIRLY DRY AIR IN PLACE...SO WILL SEE A VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER IN
ALL BUT NORTHEAST NEBRASKA AND PARTS OF NORTHWEST IOWA. BY
THURSDAY A SMALL CHANCE FOR RAINFALL WILL EXIST IN THE SOUTHERN
CWA BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY WINDS WILL BE MUCH REDUCED THROUGH
SATURDAY. BY SUNDAY A COLD FRONT WILL LIKELY BRING SOEM FAIRLY
STOUT NORTHWEST WINDS AND A POSSIBLE RETURN TO VERY HIGH FIRE
DANGER...ESPECIALLY WEST OF INTERSTATE 29.

DEBRIS BURNING IS THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF WILDFIRES...SO PLEASE
BE CAREFUL WITH ANY USE OF FIRE.

CATEGORY THIS AFTERNOON. VERY POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS OR A
VERY LOW MOISTURE CONTENT OF GRASSES...AND OTHER DRY
ORGANIC MATERIAL ON THE GROUND...INDICATE THAT DANGEROUS
BURNING CONDITIONS EXIST. FIRES WILL SPREAD RAPIDLY AND
SHOW ERRATIC BEHAVIOR. OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

THE OUTLOOK FOR THURSDAY AFTERNOON...THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER
INDEX WILL REACH THE MODERATE CATEGORY.

POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE OCCURRENCE. OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE
RESTRICTED TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING HOURS WHEN WIND SPEEDS
USUALLY LOWER AND THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS HIGHER.
