WEATHER SUMMARY FOR PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HASTINGS NE
556 AM CDT SUN MAY 03 2015

AN UNSETTLED WEATHER PATTERN SETTING UP ACROSS THE PLAINS LOOKS TO
BRING MULTIPLE CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE REGION
OVER THE NEXT WEEK. LOOKING AT TODAY...SKIES ARE EXPECTED TO BE
PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY. A COLD FRONT WORKING ITS WAY SOUTH THIS
AFTERNOON WILL PROVIDE A FOCUS FOR THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT ACROSS
THE AREA...SOME OF WHICH MAY BE ON THE STRONG TO SEVERE SIDE.
ACTIVITY MAY CONTINUE WELL INTO THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS.
AHEAD OF THE FRONT...TEMPERATURES TODAY ARE FORECAST TO CLIMB WELL
INTO THE 80S...WITH READINGS NEAR 90 DEGREES NOT OUT OF THE
QUESTION. THE CHANCE FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL RETURN TO THE AREA FOR
MONDAY...WITH THE MAIN CHANCES COMING AGAIN DURING THE AFTERNOON AND
EVENING HOURS. A STALLED FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL RESULT IN A WIDE
RANGE IN HIGH TEMPERATURES...WITH NEAR 60 FORECAST IN THE NORTH AND
NEAR 80 IN THE SOUTH. MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA WILL HAVE
EASTERLY WINDS...WHILE FURTHER SOUTH IN KANSAS WINDS WILL BE MORE
SOUTHERLY.
