FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
259 PM EDT SAT APR 25 2015

.DISCUSSION...A WARM FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL SLOWLY LIFT NORTH
LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING. AS IT DOES...A MOIST AND
UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE WILL SUPPORT SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

FROM THE CENTRAL MIDLANDS DOWN THROUGH THE CSRA...LOW-LEVEL MIXING
OF MILD AIR WILL INHIBIT THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN INVERSION TONIGHT.
ACROSS THE NORTHERN MIDLANDS...WHICH WILL REMAIN NORTH OF THE BOUNDARY
THROUGH MUCH OF THE NIGHT...AN INVERSION TOGETHER WITH FAIR DISPERSION
IS LIKELY. PATCHY FOG IS ALSO POSSIBLE ACROSS THE NORTH.

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE REGION SUNDAY AFTERNOON...
WITH A WARM LOW-LEVEL WESTERLY AIRFLOW PRIOR TO FRONTAL PASSAGE.
IN RESPONSE TO A TIGHTENING PRESSURE GRADIENT...WINDS NEAR THE SURFACE
WILL BE 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 20 TO 30 MPH FROM LATE MORNING
THROUGH FRONTAL PASSAGE. TRANSPORT WINDS WILL BE 20 TO 30 MPH.
WINDS WILL BECOME NORTHERLY BEHIND THE FRONT. MIN RELATIVE HUMIDITIES
WILL BE 35 TO 45 PERCENT.
