.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 334 AM CDT SUN MAY 3 2015/

DISCUSSION...
ANOTHER QUIET MIDNIGHT SHIFT HERE AT NWS MEMPHIS. CURRENT
TEMPERATURES ARE A FEW DEGREES WARMER THAN WE SAW LAST NIGHT. WE
DO HAVE A FEW READINGS IN THE 40S NEAR THE TENNESSEE RIVER AND
ALABAMA STATE LINE...BUT MOST OF THE MIDSOUTH IS IN THE 50S. WE
SHOULD SEE ANOTHER 2-4 DEGREES OF COOLING PRIOR TO SUNRISE
RESULTING IN LOW TEMPERATURES IN THE UPPER 40S TO LOW 50S.
ABUNDANT SUNSHINE IS EXPECTED AGAIN TODAY ALONG WITH LIGHT
SOUTHERLY WIND. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB TO NEAR 80 DEGREES
AREA WIDE...2-4 DEGREES WARMER THAN YESTERDAY.

WE WILL SEE A SUMMERTIME TYPE PATTERN SET UP ACROSS THE UNITED
STATES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL SHIFT
ALONG THE EAST COAST WITH A BROAD RIDGE ACROSS MOST OF THE EASTERN
HALF OF THE NATION. TEMPERATURES WILL TREND WARMER TOMORROW INTO
EARLY NEXT WEEK...THEN LEVEL OUT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WORK
WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND. EXPECT HIGHS IN THE MIDDLE 80S ACROSS MOST
OF THE MIDSOUTH BY WEDNESDAY...CONTINUING INTO NEXT WEEKEND. SOME
READINGS MAY APPROACH 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL DURING THE MIDDLE TO
LATER PART OF THE FORECAST PERIOD. WITH READINGS THIS
WARM... A FEW AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS CANNOT BE RULED OUT...BUT
FOR NOW...IT DOESN`T LOOK LIKE ANY ORGANIZED WEATHER SYSTEMS WILL
IMPACT THE MIDSOUTH OVER THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. GUIDANCE CONTINUES
TO BACK OFF ON RAIN CHANCES LATE IN THE WORK WEEK INTO NEXT
WEEKEND.
