...The National Weather Service in Marquette is continuing the Flood
Advisory for the Sturgeon River near Chassell in Houghton County...

.As the snowpack continues to diminish across the Sturgeon
River basin...river levels will continue to fall to below bankfull
by daybreak Saturday. Though up to one half of an inch of
precipitation is expected Sunday morning through Sunday
night...river levels should remain below bankfull through early next
week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Residents along these rivers should remain alert and
exercise caution when walking near riverbanks.

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull. If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

  The Sturgeon River near Chassell
* until 8 PM this evening.
* At 4 PM Friday the stage was 10.2 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
