FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST VIRGINIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
1041 PM EDT WED APR 1 2015

.DISCUSSION...
RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS DROPPED INTO THE LOW TO MID 20S ACROSS MUCH
OF THE FORECAST AREA THIS AFTERNOON...WHICH COMBINED WITH LOW FUEL
MOISTURE TO CREATE FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS LINGERING INTO THIS
EVENING. FORTUNATELY...WINDS ARE CONSIDERABLY LESS THAN ON
TUESDAY...GENERALLY REMAINING BELOW 10 MPH.

WINDS WILL PICK UP OUT OF THE SOUTH FOR THURSDAY...GENERALLY 5-15
MPH WITH GUSTS OF 20-25 MPH. BUT WITH THE SOUTHERLY WINDS...MOISTURE
WILL ALSO BE ON THE INCREASE AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY LEVELS ARE
EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THE UPPER 30S AND 40S THROUGH THE AFTERNOON.
STILL...FUELS WILL REMAIN DRY. THERE WILL BE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AS A WARM FRONT LIFTS
NORTH.

A WETTING RAIN IS EXPECTED FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY EVENING AS A COLD
FRONT PUSHES THROUGH.
