...BLOWING DUST IMPACTING SOUTH CENTRAL NEVADA...

STRONG WINDS GUSTING OVER 40 MPH HAVE GENERATED AREAS OF BLOWING
DUST ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL NEVADA AS A STRONG COLD FRONT PRESSES
SOUTH ACROSS THE AREA. VISIBILITY AS LOW AS A QUARTER OF A MILE WAS
RECENTLY REPORTED IN DYER AND ELY. AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES SOUTH
THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THIS MORNING AND EARLY THIS AFTERNOON,
VISIBILITY COULD BE ABRUPTLY REDUCED TO OR BELOW 2 MILES. IN
LOCALIZED AREAS VISIBILITY COULD DROP TO OR BELOW A QUARTER OF A
MILE. BE ALERT FOR SUDDEN REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY IF TRAVELING IN
THE FISH LAKE VALLEY, ALONG HIGHWAY 95 BETWEEN TONOPAH AND BEATTY AS
WELL AS IN LINCOLN COUNTY. THE LOWEST VISIBILITY WILL BE IN AND
DOWNWIND OF ANY DRY LAKE BEDS OR SPARSELY VEGETATED PARCELS OF LAND.
IF YOU ENCOUNTER BLOWING DUST WHILE DRIVING SLOW DOWN AND IF YOU
CONTINUE TO DRIVE USE YOUR HEADLIGHTS.
