AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORMAN OK
940 PM CDT MON MAY 4 2015

.UPDATE...
STORM CHANCES LOWERED FOR TONIGHT MOST OF THE AREA.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
SHOWERS AND STORMS EXPECTED TO MAKE VERY SLOW PROGRESS EASTWARD
OFF OF TEXAS HIGH PLAINS THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT WITH PRIMARILY
MERIDIONAL STEERING FLOW. POPS WERE LOWERED OR REMOVED OVER ALL
BUT FAR WESTERN OKLAHOMA AND ADJACENT PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS. PROGD
S/WV...INFLUENCED BY EVOLVING MCV OVER WEST TEXAS...STILL FORECAST
TO ROTATE N/NE ACROSS PANHANDLE OVERNIGHT. UNTIL THIS OCCURS...WE
BELIEVE THAT BULK IF NOT ALL OF STORM ACTIVITY WILL STAY WEST OF
OUR CWA. ONCE STORMS DO MAKE IT LATE TONIGHT...THEY SHOULD STAY
WELL BELOW SEVERE LEVELS. MINIMAL CHANGES TO WINDS AND TEMPS.
