AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION FOR AMERICAN SAMOA AND INDEPENDENT SAMOA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PAGO PAGO AS
159 PM SST WED APR 1 2015

.SHORT TERM...
TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT...SATELLITE IMAGERIES SHOW SCATTERED
CONVECTIONS ACROSS THE ISLANDS. RAOB FROM THIS AFTERNOON DEPICTS
AN UNSTABLE PROFILE. MODELS SUGGEST THAT THE SURFACE TROUGH ACROSS
THE ISLANDS WILL REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT.
THEREFORE...NO CHANGES TO THE PREVIOUS FCST.

.LONG TERM...
SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...MODELS ARE NOT IN AGREEMENT WITH THE
MOVEMENT OF THE SURFACE TROUGH. SOME ARE HOLDING THE SURFACE
TROUGH OVER THE ISLANDS WHILE OTHERS HAVE MOVED IT SLIGHTLY SOUTH.
FOR NOW...WILL KEEP THE PREVIOUS FCST WHILE MONITORING A FEW MORE
MODEL RUNS.

&&

.MARINE...
SOUTHERN SWELLS ARE EXPECTED TO IMPACT COASTAL WATERS AND
SHORELINES ON FRIDAY NIGHT. SEAS WILL ELEVATE TO HAZARDOUS
CONDITIONS UNTIL MONDAY. FOR NOW...SEAS OF 5 TO 7 FT WILL PERSIST
IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

.PPG WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
