...COASTAL FLOODING EXPECTED MONDAY NIGHT...

.THE COMBINATION OF HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES AND A STRENGTHENING
ONSHORE WIND WILL RAISE TIDE LEVELS IN THE GULF OF MAINE TONIGHT
AND MONDAY NIGHT. THE GREATER POTENTIAL FOR STORM SURGE AND
FLOODING IS MONDAY NIGHT...WITH A HIGH TIDE OF 11.4 FEET AT
PORTLAND AND 1 TO 2 FT STORM SURGE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAY HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM MONDAY TO 3 AM EDT
TUESDAY. THE COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATION...COASTAL NEW HAMPSHIRE AND  SOUTHERN COASTAL MAINE.

* COASTAL FLOODING...COASTAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED. BEACHES WILL
  SEE EROSION AND OVERWASH AT THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.

* TIMING...HIGH TIDE MONDAY NIGHT IS AROUND 121 AM. HIGH WATER
  CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED AN HOUR OR TWO ON EITHER SIDE OF THE
  HIGH TIDE.

* IMPACTS...INUNDATION OF LOW LYING AREAS NEAR THE COAST IS
  POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR
IMMINENT. COASTAL RESIDENTS IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD BE ALERT
FOR RISING WATER...AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO PROTECT LIFE
AND PROPERTY.

  SURGE OF AROUND 1 FOOT...POSSIBLY UP TO 1.5 FEET.

* TIMING...HIGH TIDE MONDAY NIGHT IS AROUND 121 AM. HIGH WATER
  CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED AN HOUR OR TWO ON EITHER SIDE OF THE
  HIGH TIDE.

* IMPACTS...INUNDATION OF LOW LYING AREAS NEAR THE COAST IS
  POSSIBLE.
