A river flood warning remains in effect for the Lavaca River...Navidad River...
San Bernard River...Tres Palacios River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons are urged to stay away from the river until water levels recede.

Motorists should avoid any water covered roads and find an alternate route.

Livestock and equipment should remain out of the flood plain for the next few
days.



Stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or other news sources for further updates.

for
  The San Bernard River near Sweeny
* until Wednesday morning...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0800 AM Sunday the stage was 19.1 feet
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 19.8 feet by after midnight
  tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday before midnight.
* At 17.0 feet...At levels near 17 feet moderate lowland flooding begins. Water
  is over the mid level walkway at the Phillips Terminal near Sweeny. Barges can
  not push barges upstream and are unable to dock. Water begins spilling into
  the left flood plain.

* At 0900 AM Sunday the stage was 28.2 feet
* Fell below flood stage at  2:15 AM Sunday.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to 24.7 feet by .
* At 29.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding begins as water reaches the right
  approach to the bridge at County Road 283. Livestock should be removed from
  vulnerable areas of the flood plain.

* At 0815 AM Sunday the stage was 26.2 feet
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by tomorrow
  morning.
* At 26.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding begins threatning livestock and
  property in the river channel. The right approach to the County Road 401
  bridge is closed making travel difficult.

* At 0821 AM Sunday the stage was 24.2 feet
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 25.0 feet by this afternoon.
  The river will fall below flood stage after midnight tomorrow.
* At 25.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding begins with the river one third of a
  mile wide near the Highway 59 bridge flooding secondary roads and bridges
  along the river. Livestock are isolated and potentially drowned.

* At 0830 AM Sunday the stage was 25.8 feet
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by late this
  afternoon.
* At 26.0 feet...Moderate lowland flooding begins with water well into the flood
  plain on the right upstream bank and within inches of spilling over the east
  approach to the bridge at FM 456.  The river will be almost one quarter mile
  wide in the vicinity of the gage.
