FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
459 AM EDT THU APR 2 2015

...TRANSITION BEGINS TO WARMER AND WETTER PATTERN...

.DISCUSSION...
THE SUNSHINE...BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES...AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY
OF THE PAST TWO DAYS WILL COME TO AN END AS SEVERAL WEATHER SYSTEMS
AFFECT THE AREA TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY. FIRST A WARM FRONT WILL LIFT
NORTH ACROSS THE AREA TODAY AND BRING WARMER TEMPERATURES AND HIGHER
DEW POINTS...THUS AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL NOT REACH CRITICAL
LEVELS. HOWEVER...SOUTH WINDS WILL BE INCREASING WITH GUSTS IN THE 20 TO
30 MPH RANGE THIS AFTERNOON. EVENTUALLY RAIN MOVES IN LATER TONIGHT AND
THEN COMES TO AN END SATURDAY MORNING AS A FRONTAL SYSTEM MOVES ACROSS THE
REGION. A WEST TO SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL REMAIN OVER THE AREA ON FRIDAY
AND ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED...BUT WINDS AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY
VALUES WILL NOT BE A CONCERN. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL FORM OVER THE OHIO
VALLEY FRIDAY NIGHT AND MOVE INTO THE GULF OF MAINE ON SATURDAY. EXPECT
WIDESPREAD RAIN TO DEVELOP OVER THE ENTIRE AREA LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THEN
TRANSITION TO SNOW ON SATURDAY AS TEMPERATURES FALL SHARPLY. SOME SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY IN THE NORTHERN ADIRONDACKS AND
THE NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST SECTIONS OF VERMONT. MORE UNSETTLED
WEATHER IS EXPECTED FOR NEXT WEEK.
