FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WESTERN MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAY ME
323 PM EDT SUN MAY 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...
STRONG HEATING WILL LEAD TO GOOD MIXING OF THE LOW LEVELS OF THE
ATMOSPHERE ON MONDAY. THIS WILL ALLOW DRIER AIR TO MIX DOWN FROM
ALOFT AND LEAD TO VERY LOW HUMIDITY LEVELS DURING THE AFTERNOON.
WIND SPEEDS ARE CURRENTLY EXPECTED TO REMAIN TOO LIGHT TO WARRANT
RED FLAG WARNINGS BUT IT WILL BE A CLOSE CALL. FIRE DANGER WILL BE
ELEVATED. THERE WILL BE ANOTHER CHANCE OF REACHING RED FLAG
CONDITIONS ACROSS MUCH OF MAINE ON TUESDAY AS WEST TO NORTHWEST
WINDS PICK UP A BIT MORE BEHIND A DRY COLD FRONT.
