0157 PM CDT SAT APR 18 2015

VALID 191200Z - 201200Z

...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

NO CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE ONGOING FORECAST.

STRONG WINDS IN THE WAKE OF A DEPARTING LOW WILL USHER IN A DRY
AIRMASS ACROSS THE PLAINS ON DAY2/SUNDAY. TEMPERATURES LOOK TO
REMAIN COOL ENOUGH TO KEEP MINIMUM RELATIVE-HUMIDITY VALUES IN THE
20-40 PERCENT RANGE...EXCEPT IN LOCALIZED AREAS. SHOULD IT BECOME
APPARENT THAT TEMPERATURES WILL WARM MORE THAN CURRENTLY
EXPECTED...AN ELEVATED AREA MAY BECOME NECESSARY.

FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING FORECAST RATIONALE...PLEASE SEE
THE PREVIOUS FORECAST DISCUSSION BELOW.

..MARSH.. 04/18/2015

.PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 0428 AM CDT SAT APR 18 2015/

...SYNOPSIS...
IN RESPONSE TO PHASING OF A HIGH PLAINS MID/UPPER LOW WITH A STOUT
SHORTWAVE TROUGH IN THE NRN STREAM...BROAD CYCLONIC FLOW ALOFT WILL
BECOME SITUATED OVER THE CNTRL TWO-THIRDS OF THE CONUS.
ELSEWHERE...A MEAN RIDGE WILL ESTABLISH ALONG THE WEST COAST. AT THE
SFC...A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE/TROUGHING WILL PROGRESS EWD FROM
THE PLAINS TOWARDS THE MIDWEST/OH VALLEY. IN ITS WAKE...A COLD FRONT
WILL MOVE SOUTH ACROSS THE PLAINS...WITH HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING
BEHIND IT.

STRONG NLY FLOW WILL OVERTAKE MUCH OF THE HIGH PLAINS DURING THE
DAY...WITH SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25-35 MPH. FURTHERMORE...A
CONSIDERABLY DRY AIR MASS /CHARACTERIZED BY PWAT VALUES AROUND
0.2-0.3 IN/ WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION. IN TURN...DIURNAL MIXING
WILL ENCOURAGE RH VALUES FALLING TO AROUND 20-25 PERCENT BY
AFTERNOON. HOWEVER...RELATIVELY COOL TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S/LOWER
60S AND UNCERTAINTY REGARDING THE RECEPTIVENESS OF FUELS ACROSS MUCH
OF THE REGION CAST DOUBT UPON THE POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD ELEVATED
FIRE-WX CONDITIONS. AS SUCH...NO DELINEATION WILL BE INTRODUCED WITH
THIS FORECAST...BUT ONE MAY BE REQUIRED IN FUTURE UPDATES IF
CONFIDENCE IN LOWER RH VALUES/WARMER TEMPS INCREASES.
