AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CENTERED OVER THE BORDER OF
COLORADO AND KANSAS WILL CONTINUE TO FILL AND MOVE EAST OVER THE
CENTRAL PLAINS ON SUNDAY. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THIS LOW PRESSURE
AREA SKIES OVER THE LAND OF ENCHANTMENT WERE GENERALLY PARTLY TO
MOSTLY CLOUDY TODAY OVER NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST PARTS OF THE
STATE WITH ISOLATED RAIN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AND HIGHER
ELEVATION SNOW SHOWERS. ELSEWHERE SKIES WERE MOSTLY SUNNY TO
PARTLY CLOUDY. WINDS WERE BREEZY TO GUSTY OVER MUCH OF THE STATE
TODAY AVERAGING 10 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO THE 30 TO 40 MPH
RANGE. AFTERNOON HIGHS TODAY RANGED FROM THE 40S TO MID 50S OVER
THE MOUNTAINS TO THE MID 60S TO LOWER 70S OVER THE LOWER RIO GRAND
RIVER VALLEY AND OVER THE EASTERN PLAINS. ELSEWHERE HIGHS
GENERALLY RANGED FROM THE UPPER 50S TO LOWER 60S.

CONTINUED MOSTLY CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES IN STORE FOR TONIGHT
OVER NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST AREAS WITH ISOLATED LOW LEVEL
RAIN SHOWERS AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW SHOWERS POSSIBLE. ELSEWHERE
SKIES WILL BE MOSTLY CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY. LOWS TONIGHT WILL
RANGE FROM THE LOWER 20S OVER THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS TO THE MID
30S TO MID 40S OVER THE LOWER RIO GRAND RIVER VALLEY AND OVER THE
EASTERN PLAINS. ELSEWHERE OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL RANGE FROM THE MID
20S TO MID 30S. A BACK DOOR COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SOUTH OVER THE
EASTERN PLAINS TONIGHT AND INTO SUNDAY. STRONG NORTH WINDS OF 20
TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO THE 45 TO 50 MPH RANGE WILL BE POSSIBLE
ACROSS THE NORTHEAST AND EASTERN PLAINS AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT AND
CONTINUE INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS THEN DIMINISH. THE BACKDOOR
FRONT WILL ALSO HELP KICK OFF ADDITIONAL AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ON SUNDAY MAINLY ALONG THE EASTERN SLOPES OF THE
CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN. AFTERNOON HIGHS SUNDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE
40S TO LOWER 50S OVER HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE NORTH TO THE MID 50S
TO LOWER 60S OVER HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE SOUTH. LOWER ELEVATIONS
WILL SEE HIGHS IN THE MID 60S TO MID 70S.
