FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
450 AM EDT WED APR 1 2015

...ANOTHER DRY DAY TODAY FOLLOWED BY WARMER AND WETTER WEATHER...

.DISCUSSION...
A PERSISTENT NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT CONTINUES TO BRING DRY AIR INTO
THE REGION FROM CANADA. WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER DAY OF BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES...BUT WITH VERY LOW DEW POINTS...WE WILL SEE AFTERNOON
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES LOWER INTO THE 25 TO 35 PERCENT RANGE...SIMILAR
TO YESTERDAY. PLENTY OF SUNSHINE WILL HELP TO DRY FINE DEAD FUELS IN
THE LARGER VALLEYS WHERE SNOWPACK NO LONGER EXISTS. LOOK FOR A PATTERN
CHANGE LATER TONIGHT AND ESPECIALLY ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AS THE FLOW
ALOFT BECOMES MORE WEST AND SOUTHWEST WITH TIME. THIS WILL BRING WARMER
AIR INTO THE REGION ALONG WITH HIGHER HUMIDITY VALUES. IN ADDITION...
THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION ON THURSDAY WITH BETTER CHANCES
FOR RAIN THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. MORE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED FRIDAY
NIGHT INTO SATURDAY...BUT COLDER AIR MOVING IN ON SATURDAY WILL LIKELY
CHANGE THE RAIN OVER TO SNOW. FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS WILL NOT EXIST THURSDAY
INTO SATURDAY DUE TO THE WETTER PATTERN BECOMING ESTABLISHED.
