FOR PEOPLE ON YAP AND NGULU ISLANDS OF YAP STATE.

.WATCHES/WARNINGS...
A TYPHOON WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR YAP ISLAND IN YAP STATE.
TYPHOON CONDITIONS...INCLUDING DESTRUCTIVE WINDS OF 74 MPH OR
MORE...ARE NO LONGER EXPECTED...HOWEVER THE TYPHOON WARNING WILL
REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL DAMAGING WINDS ARE NO LONGER EXPECTED

TYPHOON NOUL IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST AT 5 MPH AND AWAY FROM YAP
ISLAND. NOUL IS EXPECTED TO SLOWLY INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES AWAY TO THE
WEST...HOWEVER THE DESTRUCTIVE EFFECTS OF TYPHOON NOUL WILL SUBSIDE
THIS MORNING. TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST ACROSS YAP
ISLAND THROUGH THE AFTERNOON.

...PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
TYPHOON CONDITIONS WILL BEGIN TO SUBSIDE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF
HOURS THIS MORNING. REMAIN IN A STURDY SHELTER AWAY FROM SHORELINES
UNTIL DAMAGING WINDS SUBSIDE LATE THIS AFTERNOON. DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY
INTER-ISLAND TRAVEL UNTIL SEAS AND WINDS SUBSIDE OVER THE NEXT
COUPLE OF DAYS. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS.

DAMAGING SOUTHEAST WINDS OF 40 TO 60 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 75 MPH WILL
CONTINUE THIS MORNING...THEN WILL DECREASE TO BETWEEN 30 AND 45 MPH
EARLY THIS AFTERNOON...AND TO BETWEEN 25 AND 35 MPH OVERNIGHT.

...STORM SURGE AND SURF INFORMATION...
DANGEROUS SURF OF 15 TO 20 FEET WILL CONTINUE TODAY...THEN DECREASE
TO BETWEEN 12 AND 16 FEET OVERNIGHT. COASTAL INUNDATION OF 2 TO 3
FEET IS POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY AT HIGH TIDE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.
STRONG SOUTHEAST WINDS THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON PROMOTE A HIGHER
WATER LEVEL IN COLONIA (TAMIL) HARBOR AND LAGOON.

...OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
YAP HAS RECEIVED MORE THAN 10 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE PAST 24 HOURS...
MOST LIKELY PRODUCING LOCAL FLOODING AND RAISING THE POSSIBILITY OF
MUDSLIDES. STAY AWAY FROM AREAS OF STEEP SLOPES MADE OF CLAY OR
VOID OF VEGETATION. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 2 TO 4 INCHES IS POSSIBLE
THROUGH TONIGHT.

DAMAGING WINDS ARE NOT EXPECTED. THE TRACK OF NOUL KEEPS THE OUTER
RANGE OF DAMAGING WINDS JUST TO THE NORTH OF NGULU. AVOID VENTURING
NEAR REEFS WHERE HAZARDOUS SURF MAY BE OCCURRING. DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY
INTER-ISLAND TRAVEL UNTIL SEAS AND SURF SUBSIDE IN A COUPLE OF DAYS.

WEST WINDS AT 25 TO 35 MPH THIS MORNING WILL SHIFT TO THE SOUTHWEST
THIS AFTERNOON...THEN SLOWLY DIMINISH TONIGHT.

HAZARDOUS SURF OF 12 TO 15 FEET THIS MORNING WILL CONTINUE INTO THE
AFTERNOON...THEN SLOWLY SUBSIDE THURSDAY AS NOUL STARTS MOVING AWAY.
