...RAPID CHANGE TO COLDER WEATHER TUESDAY...

A POTENT SPRING COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA TONIGHT
INTO TUESDAY. MILD WEATHER WILL GIVE WAY TO A MUCH COLDER AIR
MASS TUESDAY THAT IS EXPECTED TO GENERALLY PERSIST INTO NEXT
WEEKEND. HIGH TEMPERATURES TUESDAY WILL BE 15-25 DEGREES LOWER
THAN TODAY. THE FRONT WILL BRING A PERIOD OF LIGHT TO MODERATE
PRECIPITATION TONIGHT WITH SNOW LEVELS DROPPING FROM AROUND 8000
FEET DOWN TO AROUND 4500 FEET TUESDAY MORNING. SNOW AMOUNTS OF 1-3
INCHES ARE EXPECTED ABOVE 5000 FEET WITH 3-6 INCHES ABOVE 6000
FEET. GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL ALSO DEVELOP BEHIND THE FRONT. ANOTHER
DISTURBANCE WILL BRING SHOWERS WITH SNOW LEVELS DOWN AS LOW AS
3000 FEET ON WEDNESDAY...THOUGH AMOUNTS SHOULD BE LIGHT.

THOSE INTENDING TO TRAVEL SHOULD EXPECT THE POSSIBILITY OF LIGHT SNOW
AMOUNTS AT TIMES...ON MOUNTAIN ROADS...MOSTLY ABOVE 4500 FEET
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. THOSE WHO HAVE OUTDOOR PLANS SHOULD PREPARE
FOR COLDER AND WETTER CONDITIONS. STAY TUNED FOR ADDITIONAL
UPDATES REGARDING THIS SHARP CHANGE TO COLDER WEATHER.

TUESDAY. MILD WEATHER WILL GIVE WAY TO A MUCH COLDER AIR MASS
TUESDAY THAT IS EXPECTED TO GENERALLY PERSIST INTO NEXT WEEKEND.
AWAY FROM THE COAST...HIGH TEMPERATURES TUESDAY WILL BE 15-25
DEGREES LOWER THAN TODAY. THE FRONT WILL BRING A PERIOD OF LIGHT
TO MODERATE PRECIPITATION TONIGHT, FOLLOWED BY SHOWERY WEATHER
WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. THE AIR MASS
WILL BE COLD ENOUGH THAT SOME OF THE HEAVIER SHOWERS MAY CONTAIN
SMALL HAIL OR GRAUPEL. SNOW LEVELS MAY REACH DOWN AS LOW AS 3000
FEET TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY. A COLD AIR MASS LATE THIS WEEK
MAY BRING FROST OR FREEZING CONDITIONS TO THE INLAND VALLEYS.

MORNINGS DURING WHICH TIME TEMPERATURES MAY FALL BELOW 30
DEGREES...POSSIBLY HARMING SENSITIVE PLANTS OR CROPS. SCATTERED
SHOWERS ON WEDNESDAY WILL OCCUR WITH SNOW LEVELS AROUND 3500
FEET...THOUGH LITTLE OR NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED.
