FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHEAST AND NORTH CENTRAL
COLORADO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DENVER/BOULDER CO
457 AM MDT TUE MAY 05 2015

.DISCUSSION...TODAY AND TONIGHT...NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP AND SPREAD NORTHEAST AHEAD OF AN UPPER
LEVEL STORM SYSTEM MOVING INTO COLORADO. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS
EXPECTED. THE SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL DECREASE TONIGHT...EXCEPT IN
THE MOUNTAINS WHERE RAIN AND SNOW WILL CONTINUE. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL
VARY BETWEEN 10 AND 12 THOUSAND FEET WITH MOST OF THE ACCUMULATING
SNOW ONLY OVER THE HIGHER PEAKS. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN COOL WITH
VERY HIGH HUMIDITY LEVELS.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...A WEAK UPPER
LEVEL RIDGE WILL CONTROL THE WEATHER THROUGH THURSDAY. MOIST AND
WEAK SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY FRIDAY.
DAYTIME HEATING WILL DE-STABILIZE THE AIRMASS EACH DAY WITH SHOWERS
DEVELOPING. AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE OVER
COLORADO ON SATURDAY...INCREASING THE PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE
REGION. OVERALL...IT WILL BE COOL AND DAMP THROUGH MOST OF THE WEEK.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS...
...ALL SURFACE WINDS ARE 20-FOOT...10-MINUTE AVERAGED WINDS...
...CWR IS CHANCE OF WETTING RAIN - 0.10 INCH OR MORE LIQUID...
...24 HR TRENDS ARE BASED ON AVERAGES OVER THE RESPECTIVE ZONE
GROUPS AND MAY NOT MATCH THE ACTUAL FORECAST VALUES
                     SHOWN IN THOSE GROUPS...
