FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
254 PM CDT MON MAY 4 2015

.DISCUSSION...
A TIGHT ONSHORE PRESSURE GRADIENT...WITH A STRENGTHENED LOW LEVEL JET
TO MIX DOWN DURING THE DAYTIME HOURS...TO MAINTAIN A MODERATE SOUTHERLY
TRANSPORT THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING. THIS DIRECTION WILL PULL IN A MORE
MOIST GULF AIR MASS TO AID IN MORE CLOUDY CONDITIONS. THUS...SLIGHTLY SLOWER
MIXING DEPTH GROWTH BUT AFTERNOON DEPTHS SHOULD STILL REACH 5 OR 6 K FT DEPTHS.
PASSING WEAK DISTURBANCES WITHIN A MORE MOIST AND GRADUALLY BECOMING UNSTABLE
REGIONAL ATMOSPHERE WILL INCREASE THE PROBABILITY OF MORNING SHOWERS AND
AFTERNOON SHOWERS WITH EMBEDDED STORMS.
