DAYS 1 THROUGH 3...

...PACIFIC NORTHWEST/NORTHERN AND CENTRAL ROCKIES...

A VIGOROUS MID-LEVEL TROUGH CARVING OUT OVER THE WESTERN U.S. WILL
BRING LATE SEASON SNOWFALL TO PORTIONS OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
AND ALONG THE NORTHERN TO CENTRAL ROCKIES THIS WEEK. THIS SYSTEM
WILL NOT HAVE A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF MOISTURE TO WORK WITH...BUT
STRONG WINDS AND PLUMMETING TEMPERATURES BEHIND THE ASSOCIATED
COLD FRONT SHOULD LEAD TO MODERATE SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ALONG THE
FAVORED SLOPES OF THE CASCADES AND NORTHERN ROCKIES MONDAY NIGHT
INTO TUESDAY. AS THE VIGOROUS TROUGH BEGINS TO SPLIT TUESDAY
NIGHT AND A LOW CLOSES OFF OVER THE FOUR CORNERS
REGION...OROGRAPHICALLY ENHANCED SNOW WILL SPREAD SOUTH INTO THE
CENTRAL ROCKIES AND ALONG THE WASATCH RANGE.

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE PROGRESSIVE GFS...MODELS WERE FAIRLY
SIMILAR WITH THE EVOLUTION OF THE MID-LEVEL TROUGH DIGGING INTO
THE WESTERN U.S.. THE WPC FORECAST WAS BASED ON A BLEND OF THE
AGREEABLE ECMWF/NAM...WHICH RESULTED IN MINIMAL CHANGES TO
CONTINUITY.

THE PROBABILITY OF SIGNIFICANT ICING IS LESS THAN 10 PERCENT.
