KENTUCKY THIS MORNING. TEMPERATURES AT 7 AM WERE GENERALLY IN THE
40S. TYPICAL LOWS FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR ARE IN THE MID 40S. TWENTY
FOUR HOUR RAINFALL TOTALS RANGED FROM A HUNDREDTH OF AN INCH TO 63
HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH.

BY MID AFTERNOON...ALBEIT A LITTLE ON THE COOL SIDE...A BEAUTIFUL
SPRING DAY WAS UNDERWAY ACROSS THE COALFIELDS. UNDER MOSTLY SUNNY
SKIES...TEMPERATURES WERE IN THE LOWER TO MID 60S. BY LATE
AFTERNOON...SHOWERS HAD BEGUN TO MOVE INTO THE NORTHWESTERN
PORTION OF THE AREA. THIS IS SLIGHTLY COOLER THAN NORMAL HIGHS
NEAR 70 DEGREES FOR TODAY.

A COLD FRONT AND PASSING UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES WILL BRING
CHANCES OF ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS BACK INTO THE FORECAST
THIS EVENING INTO LATE WEDNESDAY. LOWS TONIGHT WILL BE IN THE MID
40S. HIGHS ON WEDNESDAY WILL BE IN THE LOWER TO MID 60S.

ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...IN 1971...LIGHTNING CAUSED A
FIRE WHICH DESTROYED A HOME NEAR TILTON IN FLEMING
COUNTY...KENTUCKY.
