MORNING LOWS DROPPED INTO THE LOWER 50S AS LIGHT RAIN CONTINUED TO
FALL ACROSS PARTS OF THE REGION. OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS...A LARGE
PORTION OF THE KENTUCKY AND RED RIVER BASINS RECEIVED FROM ONE TO
ONE AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN. THE HEAVIEST SWATH OF RAIN EXTENDED
FROM CLOVER BOTTOM IN JACKSON COUNTY EAST TO INEZ IN MARTIN
COUNTY. RIVER LEVELS ACROSS THE AREA ARE RECEDING...HOWEVER
SEVERAL LOCATION REMAIN IN FLOOD STAGE.

HEIDELBERG...RAVENNA...AND CLAY CITY ARE STILL IN FLOOD STAGE
THIS AFTERNOON. ELSEWHERE...CREEKS AND STREAMS MAY STILL BE RUNNING
HIGH AND REMAIN DANGEROUS. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING TODAY PLEASE USE
CAUTION AROUND AREAS WITH HIGH WATER. ADDITIONAL RAIN IS EXPECTED
THIS WEEK AND RIVER LEVELS MAY NOT RETURN TO NORMAL UNTIL NEXT
WEEK.

LIGHT RAIN IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH THIS EVENING HOWEVER A FEW STRAY
SHOWER MAY STILL REMAIN DURING THE EVENING HOURS. THE WEATHER
PATTERN WILL REMAIN UNSETTLED THIS WEEK AS SEVERAL IMPULSES MOVE
ALONG THE SOUTHERN STREAM TOWARDS THE OH AND TN VALLEYS. THESE
IMPULSES WILL KEEP CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION IN THE FORECAST FOR
THE NEXT 7 DAYS. TEMPERATURES WILL BE SEASONAL WITH LOWS IN THE
50S AND DAYTIME HIGHS IN THE UPPER 60S AND LOW 70S.

ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...BACK IN 2006...EAST KENTUCKY
EXPERIENCED A TWO DAY RECORD SETTING HEAT WAVE. ON APRIL 14TH AND
15TH...THE JACKSON WEATHER OFFICE RECORDED DAYTIME HIGHS OF 87 AND
86 DEGREES RESPECTIVELY. ON THE MORNING OF THE 15TH THE MORNING
LOW ONLY DROPPED TO 68 DEGREES. THIS SET A NEW MAXIMUM LOW
TEMPERATURES RECORD FOR THE DAY. LONDON ALSO RECORDED TWO RECORDS
ON THE 15TH...A NEW DAYTIME HIGH OF 85 DEGREES AND A NEW MAXIMUM
LOW OF 66 DEGREES. ALSO OF INTEREST IN WEATHER HISTORY FOR
TODAY...THERE WAS ONE INCH OF SNOWFALL ON THIS DAY BACK IN 2014.
