TODAY...SCATTERED STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS BEGAN TO DEVELOP
DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS ACROSS PARTS OF THE EASTERN SANDHILLS
AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF GOLF BALLS WAS
REPORTED IN WESTERN LOUP COUNTY...QUARTER SIZE HAIL IN
SOUTHEASTERN BLAINE...AND SMALL HAIL UP TO 3 TO 4 INCHES DEEP
COVERED PARTS OF UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 183 IN NORTHERN LOUP
COUNTY. IN ADDITION TO THE HAIL ACROSS THE REGION...VERY HEAVY
RAIN FELL WITH THESE SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS
OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WERE ESTIMATED BY RADAR ACROSS PORTIONS OF
CHERRY...BROWN...ROCK...BLAINE...AND LOUP COUNTIES. ELSEWHERE
ACROSS THE REGION...THUNDERSTORMS WERE ALSO COMMON...WITH MOST OF
THESE STORMS PRODUCING SOME SMALL HAIL AND HEAVY RAINS.

TONIGHT...AN ACTIVE EVENING IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION...WITH
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE ACROSS MOST OF
WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA THROUGH THE LATE EVENING
HOURS. SOME STORMS THIS EVENING MAY BE STRONG...WITH HEAVY
RAINFALL AND SMALL HAIL BEING THE PRIMARY THREAT. LOW TEMPERATURES
WILL FALL INTO THE 40S...WITH EVEN A FEW LOW 50S POSSIBLE OVER
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. WINDS WILL BE LIGHT AND VARIABLE
THROUGHOUT THE NIGHTTIME HOURS...AS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES
ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA.
