...TWO PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL MAY LEAD TO ADDITIONAL FLOODING
THIS WEEK...

SOILS REMAIN SATURATED DUE TO THE RECENT HEAVY RAIN AND SNOWMELT.
RIVERS ARE RUNNING HIGH AND PARTS OF THE GREEN, KENTUCKY, AND OHIO
ARE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE. A NEW BATCH OF RAIN IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO
THE REGION TONIGHT. OVER THE FOLLOWING 24 HOURS, ONE TO TWO INCHES
OF RAIN WILL FALL. THIS WILL WIPE OUT THE REST OF THE SNOWPACK AND
FILL UP SMALL STREAMS.

THE RESULT FOR LARGER RIVERS WILL BE PROLONGED FLOODING AT LOCATIONS
NEAR CREST AND NEW RISES WITH POSSIBLY NEW FLOODING AT LOCATIONS
WHICH HAD FALLEN. ALL LEVELS SHOULD REMAIN IN THE MINOR CATEGORY.

ANOTHER HEAVY RAIN PRODUCER WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION STARTING LATE
THURSDAY WHICH COULD BRING AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO TWO INCHES. THIS
SYSTEM COULD MAKE FLOODING WORSE. RESIDENTS IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS
SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR WATER LEVELS AND BE PREPARED FOR
ADDITIONAL FLOODING OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS INTO NEXT WEEK.

STAY TUNED TO UPDATED FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS AS FLOOD WATCHES
OR WARNINGS MAY BE ISSUED AT A LATER TIME. AS ALWAYS...IF FLOODING
IS OBSERVED OR A WARNING IS ISSUED...MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND
IMMEDIATELY. NEVER ATTEMPT TO CROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY. TURN
AROUND...DON`T DROWN!
