AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CORPUS CHRISTI TX
252 PM CDT SAT APR 25 2015

.SHORT TERM (TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT)...AFTER MORNING
CONVECTION...WE HAVE CLEARED OUT NICELY THIS AFTERNOON WITH
SOMEWHAT DRIER AIR IN THE EAST...AND MUCH DRIER AIR WEST. WILL SEE
CLOUDS REDEVELOP TONIGHT...WITH FOG ALSO A POSSIBILITY. A DRY LINE
IS SITUATED JUST TO THE NORTH OF THE FORECAST AREA WITH DPTS IN
THE LOW 50S JUST A COUNTY NORTH OF US. THIS DRYLINE SHOULD
PROGRESS MUCH FARTHER SOUTH TOMORROW...AND EXPECT IT TO NEARLY
BISECT THE FORECAST AREA WEST TO EAST IN THE AFTERNOON. WEST OF
THE DRYLINE HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY INTO THE 90S...AND FOR
SOME LOCATIONS...WELL INTO THE 90S. EAST OF THE LINE...COULD SEE
SOME THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT...AND EXPECT TEMPERATURES MAINLY IN
THE 80S. WHILE WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED...WITH
SIGNIFICANT CAPE AND GOOD BULK SHEAR...COULD SEE SOME STRONG
DAYTIME HEATING STORMS. WILL SEE ANOTHER CHANCE FOR STORMS
BEGINNING SUNDAY NIGHT AHEAD OF MONDAY COLD FRONT. THESE STORMS
WOULD BE AIDED BY AN APPROACHING UPPER LOW.

&&

.LONG TERM (MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY)... UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL BE
OVER EASTERN NEW MEXICO INTO WEST TEXAS TO BEGIN THE LONG TERM. AT
THE SURFACE...LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP OVER SOUTH TEXAS INTO THE
MIDDLE TEXAS COAST ON MONDAY. THIS WILL KEEP DEEPER MOISTURE
ACROSS EASTERN SECTIONS OF THE AREA. AS A RESULT...CHANCES FOR
SHOWERS AND STORMS ON MONDAY WILL BE MAINLY CONFINED EAST OF
HIGHWAY 281...WITH THE BEST CHANCES NORTHEAST OF INTERSTATE 37.
WARMEST DAY OF THE WEEK WILL BE ON MONDAY WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE
80S WITH LOWER 90S NEAR LAREDO. UPPER LOW WILL SLOWLY MOVE TO THE
EAST MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY...WITH ASSOCIATED COLD FRONT MOVING
THROUGH SOUTH TEXAS. COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL FILTER INTO THE
REGION BEHIND THE FRONT. A PERIOD OF STRONG OFFSHORE WINDS TUESDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT WILL RESULT IN SCA CONDITIONS OVER
THE GULF WATERS. RAIN CHANCES WILL END ON TUESDAY WITH QUIET
WEATHER FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WORK WEEK. TEMPERATURES WILL BE
BELOW NORMAL TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...WITH HIGHS GENERALLY IN THE
70S TO LOWER 80S OUT WEST.
