...DISCUSSION FROM LOS ANGELES/OXNARD...

...GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES BRING ELEVATED FIRE DANGER
TODAY...

...GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS WITH CONTINUED VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS
WILL BRING ELEVATED FIRE DANGER TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY ACROSS
INTERIOR SECTIONS...

ELEVATED FIRE DANGER ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH AT
LEAST WEDNESDAY. AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE COMBINED WITH
OFFSHORE FLOW NEAR THE SURFACE BROUGHT SIGNIFICANT WARMING AND
DRYING TO THE REGION TODAY. WARMEST COASTAL AND VALLEY AREAS CLIMBED
TO AROUND 90 DEGREES TODAY WHILE HUMIDITIES HAVE LOCALLY FALLEN INTO
SINGLE DIGITS. THIS IN COMBINATION WITH THE GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS HAS
BROUGHT BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO THE REGION TODAY.
THE OFFSHORE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF
THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS WHILE ONSHORE WINDS BEGIN TO
OVERSPREAD THE COASTAL PLAIN AND LOCALLY INTO THE VALLEYS.

THE VERY WARM AND DRY AIR MASS WILL LINGER TUESDAY INTO
WEDNESDAY...WITH INLAND AREAS CLIMBING A FEW MORE DEGREES FROM
TODAY`S READINGS. DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS...GUSTY
ONSHORE WINDS WILL OVERSPREAD THE FORECAST AREA...STRONGEST ACROSS
THE MOUNTAINS AND ANTELOPE VALLEY. AS A RESULT...THERE WILL
CONTINUE TO BE ELEVATED FIRE DANGER ACROSS INTERIOR SECTIONS THROUGH
AT LEAST WEDNESDAY. GRADUAL COOLING IS EXPECTED TOWARDS THE END OF
THE WEEK AS SOME MARINE LAYER CLOUDS BEGIN TO RETURN TO COASTAL
AREAS.

...DISCUSSION FROM MONTEREY...

...MIDWEEK COOLING TREND THEN NORTH WINDS BY THURSDAY MORNING...

AFTER A WARM DAY ACROSS THE DISTRICT EXPECT COOLING TO OCCUR ON
TUESDAY AS THE MARINE LAYER DEEPENS AND SURGES LOCALLY INLAND IN
RESPONSE TO A DRY COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH FAR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.
THE BIGGEST COOLING WILL OCCUR NEAR THE COAST WITH LESS COOLING
INLAND BUT ALL LOCATIONS WILL SEE A RETURN TO WESTERLY WINDS OFF THE
OCEAN TUESDAY AFTERNOON. NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGES WEDNESDAY WITH A
MORNING MARINE LAYER BURNING BACK TO THE COAST FOLLOWED BY A
SEASONABLY MILD AFTERNOON. ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL PASS TO THE NORTH
WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING...ALLOWING SOME DRY
NORTH/NORTHEAST WINDS TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE NORTH AND EAST BAY HILLS
BY THURSDAY MORNING. THIS WILL USHER IN MUCH LOWER HUMIDITY VALUES
FOR THURSDAY AFTERNOON ALONG WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES. WEEKEND
FORECAST LOOKS DRY WITH NEAR OR SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

NOTE : ALL WINDS ARE 20-FOOT WINDS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED.
THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG, GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS.
