FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
230 PM CDT MON APR 27 2015

.DISCUSSION...
A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP DRY CONDITIONS ACROSS
NORTH ALABAMA TONIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. THEN, AN UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE EASTWARD FROM THE PLAINS WITH A
SURFACE LOW MOVING NORTHEAST FROM THE CENTRAL GULF COAST LATER ON
TUESDAY. AS A RESULT, SHOWERS AND WILL BEGIN TO OVERSPREAD NORTH
ALABAMA FROM THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST. THIS WILL ACT TO RAISE MINIMUM
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES AND LOWER MIXING HEIGHTS ON TUESDAY AND
WEDNESDAY. PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE ON TUESDAY NIGHT INTO
WEDNESDAY AS THE SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES ACROSS SOUTH
GEORGIA.

SMOKE DISPERSION ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY SHOULD BE GENERALLY GOOD
DUE TO THE EAST TO NORTHEAST WIND SPEEDS OF 10-15 MPH.

THEN, DRIER CONDITIONS SHOULD PREVAIL ON THURSDAY ACROSS MOST OF
NORTH ALABAMA WITH MORE ISOLATED SHOWERS POSSIBLE AS THE SURFACE LOW
AND UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVE OFF TO THE EAST. THE WEEKEND AND
EARLY PART OF NEXT WEEK SHOULD REMAIN DRY WITH WARMER TEMPERATURES
EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND.
