AN UPPER LEVEL LOW IS NEAR 30.0N 161.5W...ABOUT 570 MILES NORTH
NORTHWEST OF KAUAI THIS AFTERNOON BASED ON WATER VAPOR IMAGERY.
CLOUDS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM/S SURFACE FEATURE REMAIN NEAR THE
GARDEN ISLE THIS AFTERNOON.

THE LEADING EDGE OF THE CLOUDS THAT MARK THE SURFACE FRONT LIE ALONG
A LINE FROM 28.8N 155.4W TO 21.5N 159.1W TO 12.0N 170.0W. BETWEEN
25N AND 30N...CLOUD TOPS REACH NEAR 38000 FEET. NORTH OF 30N...THE
LOW CLOUD BAND MERGES WITH LAYERED CLOUDS AND REACH NEAR 41000 FEET.
BETWEEN 15N AND 25N...CLOUD TOPS REACH NEAR 16000 FEET. ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS ARE FOUND WITHIN THE BAND SOUTH OF 15N WITH TOPS
REACHING NEAR 40000 FEET.

THE CLOUDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FRONT COVER MOST OF KAUAI THIS
AFTERNOON...AND EXTEND INTO THE EASTERN HALF OF THE KAUAI CHANNEL.
LOW CLOUDS HAVE LINGERED OVER OAHU SINCE DAYBREAK. CLOUDS REMAIN
THICK OVER LANAI AND THE EASTERN HALF MOLOKAI. THESE CLOUDS EXTEND
TO THE NORTH AND EAST OF THOSE ISLANDS...AND ARE BRINGING CLOUDS TO
THE WEST MAUI MOUNTAINS ON MAUI. CLOUDS HAVE INCREASED OVER THE
SLOPES OF HALEAKALA SINCE DAYBREAK...WITH CLOUDS FOUND OVER ALL
SLOPES EXTENDING UP TO AROUND 7000 FEET. CLOUDS HAVE ALSO INCREASED
OVER THE BIG ISLANDS SLOPES SINCE DAYBREAK...REACHING AROUND 8000
FEET. THE CLOUDS ARE THINNEST ALONG THE COAST AND UP TO AROUND 1000
FEET.
