EVENT...HEAVY RAIN THREAT FOR ARKLATEX  THIS AFTERNOON/EVENING

SATELLITE ANALYSIS AND TRENDS...WV IMAGERY SHOWING TROUGH CONTINUING TO
MOVE INTO WRN TX WITH GOES MESO WINDS SHOWING 100-120 KT JET SITUATED
ACROSS SW NM AND FAR WRN TX.  THIS SETUP HAS PUT ARKLATEX INTO A GOOD
AREA OF UPPER DIVERGENCE.  GOES SOUNDER/GPS DATA SHOWING PW VALUES
OF 1.5-1.7" ACROSS THE AREA AND CAPE VALUES BETWEEN 1000-2000 J/KG
WITH HIGHER VALUES JUST TO THE SOUTH OVER SE TX.  VISIBLE IMAGERY AND
SFC ANALYSIS IS SHOWING GOOD  LOW LEVEL SRLY FLOW HELPING TO FEED THE
INSTABILITY AND MOISTURE N INTO THE ARKLATEX.

SHORT TERM OUTLOOK VALID 1900-0000Z...MEDIUM/HIGH CONFIDENCE FACTOR
IN SHORT TERM OUTLOOK...GIVEN FAVORABLE UPPER SUPPORT AND GOOD
MOISTURE/INSTABILITY INFLOW WOULD BE CONCERNED WITH THE POSSIBILITY
OF CONVECTION TO DEVELOP LATER THIS AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING ACROSS THE
ARKLATEX REGION.  AS WITH THE WANING CONVECTION MOVING THROUGH NOW...THE
FLOW REMAINS FAVORABLE FOR CELL TRAINING/MERGING BRING LOCALIZED HEAVY
RAIN THREATS TO THE REGION.
